In June this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Photographies, which included the work Portrait of Horst, Paris, Vogue, 1931 by George Hoyningen-Huene. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 9,450.00 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Hoyningen-Huene - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fashion studies, 1939-1942, which sold at auction in February 2009 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 21,718.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Photographies durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Horst, Paris, Vogue, 1931 von George Hoyningen-Huene zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 9.450,00 und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von George Hoyningen-Huene mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fashion studies, 1939-1942 beobachtet, die im Februar 2009 für USD 27.500,00 (€ 21.718,53) versteigert wurde.
