Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Hoyningen-Huene could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection auction, the work Horst Torso, Paris, 1931 changed hands for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,361.12) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Hoyningen-Huene have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fashion studies, 1939-1942 in February 2009 with an auction result of USD 27,500.00 (€ 21,718.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Hoyningen-Huene konnte im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection wechselte die Arbeit Horst Torso, Paris, 1931 für USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.361,12) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Hoyningen-Huene auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fashion studies, 1939-1942 im Februar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 21.718,53).
