Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Hoyningen-Huene could be acquired at Phillips in London in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Georgia Graves, Swimwear by Lelong, Paris changed hands for GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,964.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Hoyningen-Huene have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fashion studies, 1939-1942 in February 2009 with an auction result of USD 27,500.00 (€ 21,718.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Hoyningen-Huene konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Georgia Graves, Swimwear by Lelong, Paris für GBP 2.520,00 (€ 2.964,54) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Hoyningen-Huene auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fashion studies, 1939-1942 im Februar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 21.718,53).
