In September 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Portrait of Miss Caroline Hopwood, half-length, in a purple and white dress by George Henry Harlow. The »bidding war« ended at USD 24,000.00 (€ 19,903.80), 60% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by George Henry Harlow; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Kitty Stephens, Later Countess Of Essex (1794 - 1882) sold at auction in June 2008 with the realized price of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 25,280.67).

Im September 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Miss Caroline Hopwood, half-length, in a purple and white dress von George Henry Harlow zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 24.000,00 (€ 19.903,80) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von George Henry Harlow; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait Kitty Stephens, Later Countess Of Essex (1794 - 1882) im Juni 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 25.280,67).
