Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work The Turner's Shop, Palensville, Catskill Mountains by George Henry Hall. The price achieved of USD 35,250.00 (€ 37,789.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Henry Hall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bric-a-Brac, which sold at auction in January this year for USD 151,200.00 (€ 139,252.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Turner's Shop, Palensville, Catskill Mountains von George Henry Hall zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 35.250,00 (€ 37.789,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George Henry Hall mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bric-a-Brac beobachtet, die im Januar diesen Jahres für USD 151.200,00 (€ 139.252,16) versteigert wurde.
