This artwork by George Grosz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2015. In the Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper Including Property from the John C. Whitehead Collection auction, the work Ransom sold for USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,835.55) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Grosz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gefährliche Straße in February 2020 with an auction result of GBP 9,740,250.00 (€ 11,288,971.84).

In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper Including Property from the John C. Whitehead Collection wurde die Arbeit Ransom für USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.835,55) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00.
