Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sea and Rocks by George Gardner Symons was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2011. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,373.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Gardner Symons have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blush of Evening in September 2007 with an auction result of USD 46,600.00 (€ 32,773.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sea and Rocks von George Gardner Symons kam im April 2011 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.373,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Gardner Symons auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blush of Evening im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 46.600,00 (€ 32.773,05).
