Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art40th Anniversary Auction, which included the work A bend in a wintry river by George Gardner Symons. The price achieved of USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,284.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Gardner Symons have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blush of Evening in September 2007 with an auction result of USD 46,600.00 (€ 32,773.05).

Im Oktober 2020 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California and Western Art40th Anniversary Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit A bend in a wintry river von George Gardner Symons zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.825,00 (€ 3.284,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Gardner Symons auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blush of Evening im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 46.600,00 (€ 32.773,05).
