Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Studies For Alfred Inciting The Saxons To Prevent The Landing Of The Danes by George Frederick Watts was sold in the European Art: Paintings & Sculpture auction at Sothebys in London in June 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,259.95) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Frederick Watts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hope in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 773,750.00 (€ 1,285,352.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Studies For Alfred Inciting The Saxons To Prevent The Landing Of The Danes von George Frederick Watts wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion European Art: Paintings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in London versteigert.
