Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Forster could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Still Life Of Grapes, Peaches, Pear, And Nuts changed hands for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,632.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Forster achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life with Fruit and Nest of Eggs in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 91,000.00 (€ 61,955.34).
