Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Still Life With Peaches, Grapes And Walnut by George Forster for USD 7,200.00 (€ 5,931.30). This price was achieved in the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Forster achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life with Fruit and Nest of Eggs in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 91,000.00 (€ 61,955.34).
