This work of art by George Forster could be acquired at Christies in New York in December 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Tabletop Still Life changed hands for USD 37,500.00 (€ 28,261.36) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Forster - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life with Fruit and Nest of Eggs, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 91,000.00 (€ 61,955.34).
