Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Dunlop Leslie could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Victorian & Edwardian auction, the work The Daughters Of Eve changed hands for GBP 168,500.00 (€ 228,962.92) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Dunlop Leslie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pot-Pourri, which sold at auction in November 2002 for GBP 446,650.00 (€ 699,430.87).
