Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Dunlop Leslie could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Victorian Pictures auction, the work Portrait of the artist's daughter, half-length, in a green dress with white pinafore changed hands for GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,849.52) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Dunlop Leslie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pot-Pourri in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 446,650.00 (€ 699,430.87).
