Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Victorian Pictures, which included the work Matilda - Dante, Purgatorio, Canto 28 'For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work; I will triumph in the works of thy hands' - Psalm XCII, 4 by George Dunlop Leslie. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 60,104.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Dunlop Leslie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pot-Pourri in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 446,650.00 (€ 699,430.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Matilda - Dante, Purgatorio, Canto 28 'For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work; I will triumph in the works of thy hands' - Psalm XCII, 4 von George Dunlop Leslie zur Versteigerung kam.
