Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work The Portrait by George de Forest Brush for USD 93,750.00 (€ 85,080.32). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George de Forest Brush achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Council of the War Party in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 2,592,000.00 (€ 2,188,819.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Portrait von George de Forest Brush für USD 93.750,00 (€ 85.080,32) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George de Forest Brush erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Council of the War Party im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.592.000,00 (€ 2.188.819,46).
