Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study for "The Picture Writer's Story" by George de Forest Brush was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,971.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George de Forest Brush achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Council of the War Party in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 2,592,000.00 (€ 2,188,819.46).

Die Arbeit Study for "The Picture Writer's Story" von George de Forest Brush kam im Dezember 2010 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 32.971,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
