Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Christies in London held the auction Russian Art, which included the work Portrait Of Grand Duke Nicholas, Later Emperor Nicholas I (1825-55), On Horseback by George Dawe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 110,500.00 (€ 157,390.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by George Dawe have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2006 the work Portrait of Grand Duke Nicholas, Later Emperor Nicholas I (1825-55), On Horseback was auctioned for GBP 108,000.00 (€ 160,383.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Russian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Grand Duke Nicholas, Later Emperor Nicholas I (1825-55), On Horseback von George Dawe zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 110.500,00 (€ 157.390,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von George Dawe konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2006 die Arbeit Portrait of Grand Duke Nicholas, Later Emperor Nicholas I (1825-55), On Horseback für GBP 108.000,00 (€ 160.383,38) versteigert.
