Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Monkey Man by George Condo. The price achieved of USD 327,600.00 (€ 334,866.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Condo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude and Forms in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 6,162,500.00 (€ 5,280,634.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Monkey Man von George Condo zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 327.600,00 (€ 334.866,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Condo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude and Forms im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.162.500,00 (€ 5.280.634,10).
