Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Men in a bar; and a companion piece by George Biddle was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in New York in September 2008. The price achieved of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,130.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Biddle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mother And Child, which sold at auction in March 2005 for USD 9,000.00 (€ 6,939.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Men in a bar; and a companion piece von George Biddle wurde im September 2008 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.130,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George Biddle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mother And Child beobachtet, die im März 2005 für USD 9.000,00 (€ 6.939,63) versteigert wurde.
