Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Biddle could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work A New England Farm changed hands for USD 3,438.00 (€ 2,441.59) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Biddle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mother And Child, which sold at auction in March 2005 for USD 9,000.00 (€ 6,939.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Biddle konnte im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit A New England Farm für USD 3.438,00 (€ 2.441,59) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Biddle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mother And Child beobachtet, die im März 2005 für USD 9.000,00 (€ 6.939,63) versteigert wurde.
