Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work British Spaniels And Pheasants by George Armfield was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,188.00 (€ 1,571.95). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Armfield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British A Fox Stalking Three Rabbits in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 16,164.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit British Spaniels And Pheasants von George Armfield im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.188,00 (€ 1.571,95) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Armfield erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British A Fox Stalking Three Rabbits im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 16.164,95).
