Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Ames Aldrich could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Windmills Along A River changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,183.85) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Ames Aldrich - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work River in Winter, which sold at auction in October 2003 for USD 23,900.00 (€ 20,587.48).
