Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nächtlicher Lärm (Nightly Noise) by Georg Scholz was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 538,946.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georg Scholz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Badische Kleinstadt bei Tage, which sold at auction in February 2016 for GBP 1,202,500.00 (€ 1,540,855.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nächtlicher Lärm (Nightly Noise) von Georg Scholz kam im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 538.946,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Georg Scholz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Badische Kleinstadt bei Tage beobachtet, die im Februar 2016 für GBP 1.202.500,00 (€ 1.540.855,26) versteigert wurde.
