Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The harbour of Beyrouth, Libanon by Georg Macco was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2002. The price achieved of EUR 1,792.50 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georg Macco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Orange Seller, Outside Bab Zuwayla, Cairo in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 48,000.00 (€ 38,022.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The harbour of Beyrouth, Libanon von Georg Macco kam im September 2002 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.792,50 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georg Macco erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Orange Seller, Outside Bab Zuwayla, Cairo im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 48.000,00 (€ 38.022,81).
