In May this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 21st Century Art Day Sale, which included the work Mama Watched It Be So by Genesis Tramaine. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,134,000.00 (€ 135,922.47), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Genesis Tramaine - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hosanna, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 441,000.00 (€ 410,958.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mama Watched It Be So von Genesis Tramaine zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.134.000,00 (€ 135.922,47) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Genesis Tramaine mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hosanna beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 441.000,00 (€ 410.958,90) versteigert wurde.
