In June 2002 Christies in Los Angeles held the auction CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS, which included the work Mountain Stream near Taos by Gene Kloss. The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,170.00 (€ 7,274.76), 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gene Kloss - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Indian Dance Procession in an Adobe Plaza, which sold at auction in August 2021 for USD 27,812.50 (€ 23,569.92).

Im Juni 2002 führte Christies in Los Angeles die Auktion CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mountain Stream near Taos von Gene Kloss zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.170,00 (€ 7.274,76) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gene Kloss mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Indian Dance Procession in an Adobe Plaza beobachtet, die im August 2021 für USD 27.812,50 (€ 23.569,92) versteigert wurde.
