Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Plototan With Newspaper by Gede Mahendra Yasa was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2010, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 95,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 400,000.00 (€ 37,138.33). Admittedly, works by Gede Mahendra Yasa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Origen's Gambit in November 2017 with an auction result of HKD 1,750,000.00 (€ 188,414.02).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Plototan With Newspaper von Gede Mahendra Yasa im Oktober 2010 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 95.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 400.000,00 (€ 37.138,33) mehr als viermal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gede Mahendra Yasa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Origen's Gambit im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.750.000,00 (€ 188.414,02).
