This artwork by Gazbia Sirry achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November 2021. In the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIraqi Masterpieces from the Jawdat, Madhloom and Selim Collections auction, the work without title sold for GBP 31,500.00 (€ 36,983.96) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gazbia Sirry - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Egyptian the Garden , which sold at auction in October 2017 for GBP 81,250.00 (€ 92,640.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gazbia Sirry erzielte im November 2021 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIraqi Masterpieces from the Jawdat, Madhloom and Selim Collections wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 31.500,00 (€ 36.983,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gazbia Sirry mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Egyptian the Garden beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für GBP 81.250,00 (€ 92.640,90) versteigert wurde.
