Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Homesickness A Blindman'S Paradise by Gavin Jantjes was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,898.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gavin Jantjes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work South African a South African Colouring Book, which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 77,500.00 (€ 87,396.09).

Die Arbeit Homesickness A Blindman'S Paradise von Gavin Jantjes kam im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.898,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gavin Jantjes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit South African a South African Colouring Book beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für GBP 77.500,00 (€ 87.396,09) versteigert wurde.
