Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary African Art Online, which included the work A South African Colouring Book, 1974/5 by Gavin Jantjes. The price achieved of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 56,460.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Other works by Gavin Jantjes have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2018 the work South African a South African Colouring Book was auctioned for GBP 77,500.00 (€ 87,396.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit A South African Colouring Book, 1974/5 von Gavin Jantjes zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 56.460,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Gavin Jantjes konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2018 die Arbeit South African a South African Colouring Book für GBP 77.500,00 (€ 87.396,09) versteigert.
