Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Woman (Striding Woman) by Gaston Lachaise. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,760.00 (€ 27,956.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gaston Lachaise achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Standing Woman [LF 92|AID104142] in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 3,732,500.00 (€ 3,296,387.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woman (Striding Woman) von Gaston Lachaise zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.760,00 (€ 27.956,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gaston Lachaise erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Standing Woman [LF 92|AID104142] im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.732.500,00 (€ 3.296.387,88).
