Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Gaston Lachaise achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in December 2018. In the A Life of Discovery: Works from The Allan Stone Collection | Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Untitled 3 Works sold for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,092.35) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gaston Lachaise achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Standing Woman [LF 92|AID104142] in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 3,732,500.00 (€ 3,296,387.88).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gaston Lachaise erzielte im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion A Life of Discovery: Works from The Allan Stone Collection | Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Untitled 3 Works für USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.092,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gaston Lachaise erzielen.
