Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Christies in New York held the auction An American Place | The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection Day Sale, which included the work Relief (Woman) LF 128 by Gaston Lachaise. The price achieved of USD 250,000.00 (€ 220,789.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gaston Lachaise achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Standing Woman [LF 92|AID104142] in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 3,732,500.00 (€ 3,296,387.88).

Im November 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion An American Place | The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Relief (Woman) LF 128 von Gaston Lachaise zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 220.789,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gaston Lachaise erzielen.
