Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Back of Walking Woman LF 33 by Gaston Lachaise for USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,197.39). This price was achieved in the auction An American Place | The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection Day Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gaston Lachaise achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Standing Woman [LF 92|AID104142] in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 3,732,500.00 (€ 3,296,387.88).
