This work of art by Gaston Chaissac could be acquired at Christies in Paris in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Art contemporain - vente online auction, the work Composition changed hands for EUR 11,340.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gaston Chaissac achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Locataire Du Premier, 1956 in April 2007 with an auction result of EUR 299,335.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gaston Chaissac konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Paris für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Art contemporain - vente online wechselte die Arbeit Composition für EUR 11.340,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gaston Chaissac erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Locataire Du Premier, 1956 im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 299.335,00.
