In February 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art, which included the work Le Port De La Rochelle by Gaston Balande. The auction ended at the price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,846.47), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Other works by Gaston Balande have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in February 2008 the work Le Lac D'Annecy was auctioned for USD 25,000.00 (€ 16,461.45).
