In January 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings, & Watercolors, which included the work A landscape with a man sitting beside a blasted tree in the foreground, a lake and mountains in the distance by Gaspard Dughet. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,209.81) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gaspard Dughet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A wooded landscape with figures by a river in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 324,000.00 (€ 237,188.87).

Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.209,81) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gaspard Dughet erzielen.
