Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A view of Amersfoort from the Eem river by Gaspar van Wittel was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2017. The price achieved of GBP 185,000.00 (€ 206,431.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gaspar van Wittel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice, from the Bacino; and The Entrance to the Grand Canal, with the Santa Maria della Salute in July 2003 with an auction result of GBP 1,517,250.00 (€ 1,983,148.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A view of Amersfoort from the Eem river von Gaspar van Wittel kam im Juli 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 185.000,00 (€ 206.431,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gaspar van Wittel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice, from the Bacino; and The Entrance to the Grand Canal, with the Santa Maria della Salute im Juli 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.517.250,00 (€ 1.983.148,05).
