Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Final Twist by Gary Thomas Erbe was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,125.00 (€ 2,954.24). Admittedly, works by Gary Thomas Erbe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Those Amazin' Mets in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 30,075.00 (€ 25,543.57).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Final Twist von Gary Thomas Erbe im November 2016 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.125,00 (€ 2.954,24) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gary Thomas Erbe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Those Amazin' Mets im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.075,00 (€ 25.543,57).
