In October 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work A Dream by Gary Thomas Erbe. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,512.02), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gary Thomas Erbe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Those Amazin' Mets, which sold at auction in July 2020 for USD 30,075.00 (€ 25,543.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Dream von Gary Thomas Erbe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.512,02) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gary Thomas Erbe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Those Amazin' Mets beobachtet, die im Juli 2020 für USD 30.075,00 (€ 25.543,57) versteigert wurde.
