A set of four hanging scrolls, ink on paper, each panel signed by the artist with his seals Gu Huan Shanfang, Gao Yi yinxin, Dezhai chang shou and Renhe Gao Dun, the final panel with a dedication to Jing'an (Wang Guowei, 1877-1927).

Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part IV, which included the work Calligraphy in Running Script by Gao Yong. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,873.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gao Yong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Running Script Calligraphy, which sold at auction in November 2015 for HKD 62,500.00 (€ 7,633.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part IV durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script von Gao Yong zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.187,50 (€ 2.873,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gao Yong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Running Script Calligraphy beobachtet, die im November 2015 für HKD 62.500,00 (€ 7.633,50) versteigert wurde.
