Despite a disappointment, a good price for Gao Xiaohua
When this work without title by Gao Xiaohua was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 45,000.00 – 65,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 43,000.00 (€ 30,241.23). Despite this disappointing result, this work without title is the most expensive artwork by Gao Xiaohua that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Gao Xiaohua
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Gao Xiaohua im September 2007 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 45.000,00 – 65.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 43.000,00 (€ 30.241,23) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist dieses Werk ohne Titel das teuerste Kunstwerk von Gao Xiaohua, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
