This artwork by Gao Xiaohua achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2012. In the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Portrait of a Yi Girl sold for HKD 250,000.00 (€ 24,788.62) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gao Xiaohua; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in September 2007 with the realized price of USD 43,000.00 (€ 30,241.23).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gao Xiaohua erzielte im November 2012 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a Yi Girl für HKD 250.000,00 (€ 24.788,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Gao Xiaohua; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 43.000,00 (€ 30.241,23).
