Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work In One Breath No. 2 by Gao Weigang. The price achieved of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 7,913.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 60,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gao Weigang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Superstructure, which sold at auction in October 2020 for HKD 201,600.00 (€ 22,328.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit In One Breath No. 2 von Gao Weigang zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 7.913,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 60.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gao Weigang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Superstructure beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für HKD 201.600,00 (€ 22.328,84) versteigert wurde.
