This artwork by Gao Kai achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in Hong Kong in May 2013. In the Delightful Harmony - Fine Modern and Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy sold for HKD 23,000.00 (€ 2,280.87) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 10,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gao Kai; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script sold at auction in May 2016 with the realized price of HKD 37,760.00 (€ 4,364.36).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gao Kai erzielte im Mai 2013 bei POLY in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Delightful Harmony - Fine Modern and Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy für HKD 23.000,00 (€ 2.280,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 10.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Gao Kai; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script im Mai 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 37.760,00 (€ 4.364,36).
