In September 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Modern and Contemporary Indian Art, which included this untitled work by Ganesh Haloi. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,800.00 (€ 8,512.65), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ganesh Haloi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Lord Buddha the Enlightened One in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 50,250.00 (€ 59,532.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im September 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Indian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ganesh Haloi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.800,00 (€ 8.512,65) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ganesh Haloi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Lord Buddha the Enlightened One im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.250,00 (€ 59.532,68).
