Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gaganendranath Tagore achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2011. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Resurrection sold for USD 32,500.00 (€ 22,914.76) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gaganendranath Tagore have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bed Of Arrows (Bhishma) in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 113,648.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gaganendranath Tagore erzielte im März 2011 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Resurrection für USD 32.500,00 (€ 22.914,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gaganendranath Tagore auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bed Of Arrows (Bhishma) im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 113.648,46).
