Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work My Love of My Country is as Big as I am; By the Sweat of My Brow I Tried to be Mistaken for a Shahel but Still That Man Calls Me Baboo by Gaganendranath Tagore for USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,389.04). This price was achieved in the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gaganendranath Tagore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bed Of Arrows (Bhishma) in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 113,648.46).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00.
