It achieved a price of USD 27,500.00 (€ 23,468.17), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 53%. Admittedly, works by Gaganendranath Tagore have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bed Of Arrows (Bhishma) in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 113,648.46).

Die Arbeit Untitled (The Poet) von Gaganendranath Tagore kam im September 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 23.468,17) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 53%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gaganendranath Tagore auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bed Of Arrows (Bhishma) im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 113.648,46).
